PC keyboard and mouse. The tutorial runs as 15 numbered steps against Volt Aoba; we followed it on a fresh account.
How do you aim and launch?
Before each round you get a view of the stadium. Move the mouse left and right and a target slides along the floor: that is where your bey lands. The tutorial’s tip: land near the middleto reach the rival fast. Press Q to lock it in.
Then comes Let It Rip: a ring shrinks onto a circle, and you press Q the moment it touches the circle, three times in a row. Good timing gives a stronger launch.
How do you move and attack in battle?
Once it lands, your bey spins on its own, but you steer it: hold W A S D to drive. Your bey is the red one with the blue ring under it. Hold Space for a Scrape Charge: power builds while you hold, and when you let go the bey dashes at the rival on its own, homing in.
F is Brace: hold it and your bey gets heavier, so incoming hits push it less. Use it when you are near the edge or the rival is charging. When the two beys lock in a clash, click rapidly or press Q to push back.
What do R, G, V and E do?
R, G and V are your bey’s moves, and V is the Ultimate. Moves depend on the layer and have cooldowns. In the tutorial, the borrowed Surge Spriggan’s R is Counter Break, a Strike move with an 8-second cooldown. E is Awaken: when the Awaken button on the right of the HUD says Ready, press E.
How do you win a round?
Volt spells it out: you win a round by bursting the rival bey apart, knocking it out of the stadium, or making it stop spinning first.
Each bey has a spin bar (the % on the HUD) and a row of burst locks. Hitting the rival drains its spin and breaks its locks; break them all and it bursts. When the game flashes“SAME SPIN!”, both beys spin the same way, and the tutorial warns that each blow then hits your locks harder, so bursts come sooner.
